3.1 Media: Images
How images are managed in ProDigi
ProDigi holds a collection of images for each product. It is not necessary to use every image against the product. For example, some images might be reserved for use in the catalogue only.
You can choose which images you want to be associated with the product on the web site, and the order in which they appear. The first image is always used as the hero image, which will appear for example in search results, and in the category lists. It will also appear first on the Product Details Page.
If the product is part of a product family, it is possible to allocate individual images for each product variant. For example, you could have separate images for a green chair, red chair, blue chair et cetera. Images for each variant are managed in the variants section.

To add images to the collection, click on the UPLOAD FILE(S) button. You can either browse to the folder that contains the images you require, or alternatively drag and drop images onto the area provided. ProDigi will check the images have acceptable dimensions, quality et cetera before accepting them for upload, and will manage their file names and location once in the system.
Once uploaded, you can edit information for each individual image. You can change the name of the image which is displayed in ProDigi, and also allocate the image some alt text. (The alt text is used by screen readers for people with a visual impairment, and it is best practice to add information to the alt text to describe an image, though this is not compulsory.)
All available images which are not being used on the web sites are listed on the left hand side of the page, those which are being shown against product will be listed on the right. The image at the top on the right will be automatically allocated as the hero image.
To move images between the lists, or re-order the images, click and drag the image tile left or right, up or down. When ready, click to save image selections.
You may wish to preview the changes to make sure you’re happy with them.
